I want to lift my 2wd X 7.3 4"--Whats the best way?

I'm looking to lift my X. Is there anybody in the Orange County CA. areas that can steer me to a cheap, reputable shop. I have about 1K to spend. Thanks in advance for any help.

I want to lift it purely for looks and to get some bigger tires on there. I cannot afford a new truck and I don't want to lose the 7.3.

I live in Orlando - everything is flat here and no snow ever so fine with lifting a 2WD X.
Anything I need other than a pittman arm when installing the 6" procomp kit? I have a 373 right now do I need the 410's?

Welcome Commander. 4wheel Drive Parts in Sana Ana did the build on my V10 2wd about 7 years ago. They did :
6" Fab-tech lift with Helwig add-a-leaf in the rear to level, rear sway bar, rear air bags and compressor and Bilstein shocks.
The wheel and tire and 4:56 LS rear was done there as well.
The truck has 30,000 miles on the build and still does great. Just changed the tires (muds) which had even wear but scary old.
BTW - didn't need 4x4 either - built to tow heavy .

Thanks guys.
Pastor, what did it cost you out the door for all that you did to your X?

Let me get my file that came with the X and add it all up. The costs will be circa 2009 but pretty close to todays costs.
Unless you are going to tow heavy, the rear air bags and compressor are not required for a level ride using the add-a-leaf.

With labor, looks like pretty close to $4K for base suspension and 4:56 rear gear.
I suspect there are other options now other than Fab-Tek. I think 4-Wheel carries a few other brands.
