I'm not sold. That's a novelty for the young hipsters. It will not be the transportation of the future.
I wonder how long I would be able to stand on one before I want to sit down. If I weren't so cheap, I would buy it for riding around a park, or at The Beach ...... But it won't be my commute vehicle. An electric bicycle would be better for me.

My nephew is a videographer and does a lot of Warriors games (and Giants games during MLB season). He got a RAD eBike to commute between the Sunset district (where he lives), and the east side of the city where the stadiums are. As it happens, he also got a 2-wheel scooter, which he finds almost as quick, and a lot easier to stash when he's doing a game.
In the days of riding dinosaurs, I had a Razor scooter. Actually , I still have it . In case nobody remembers, it was just a scooter. No motor. It was fun to play with. No seat. That's when I learned the advantage to the bicycle was the seat.
I tried commuting with it, in combination with public transit. It turned out to be a toy more than a commuter tool. Now it's just taking up space in the garage.
My brother in law bought an electric scooter. The one he got was underpowered for San Francisco hills. It was returned.
I wonder how many Segway scooters are unused and taking up garage space.
I remember giving two of my granddaughters Razor scooters for Christmas a few years back. They used them to go to school for a while, but ended up switching to bikes because the scooters wore them out.

If you can get a golf cart, that would be fun to scoot around in. I used to go to a resort at Lake Berryessa. They had those for the staff. After-hours, when the bosses were gone, they got borrowed.
I can tell you firsthand that Cushman meter maid carts are fun.
No need for a golf cart. I am fine with the electric mobility scooter the VA furnished me. I would go too fast in the golf cart and crash into something with my luck. LOL
Anyone have knowledge of how much it would cost to upgrade my house to a 400 amp panel, and add an electrical meter to my non-permitted ADU? The main panel shouldn't be too hard. There's a dedicated PGE power pole about 10 feet away from my panel and no trenching would be required. Would the 100 foot power lines from the street to the pole be able to support 400 amps?
@Stewart_H I know somewhere there's a general electrical Q&A thread but I couldn't find it.
It's got 200 amp service now, and that is providing the juice for both houses. I'd like to add an 80 amp breaker to run a much faster charger for the Mach-E and add a heat pump for the main house. The ADU has a 70 amp breaker leading to it. The main house water heater is already on it, as well as the usual circuits for a 1550 sq/ft house.
That ADU won't ever be brought up to code, so I don't want to get the county involved. I might be required to get a permit to add the meter to the ADU, so I might have to put an add-on inductive meter or something like that. I want to start charging my tenant for the electricity he uses, which is substantial.
My daughter sent me these from her phone. Apparently, the Ranger is toast. I have no details on the how, why, when, etc. So, I guess giving the Ranger away was not a good decision. Damn...

It all depends on the equipment and labor. You can get a lot more done while spending a little more. With electrical work, you want to think about being able to upgrade in the future. Install a unit which can work with things like batteries, solar panels, etc.

Agreed. It already has the solar panels hooked up to the existing panels. Going to 400 instead of 300 is a bit of future proofing. Having the 400 would allow for the Ford Lightning functionality where you can power your house with the battery in the truck for example.
