I believe beds should be the same dimensions through 1996 for Fords. The other manufacturers had various dates when they switched to different bed dimensions. I think for long beds, you may be fine with something that fits any of the big three as long as it's '80s and earlier. It's pretty to measure and see if things fit though, you just need length and width at both ends. The big difference with newer trucks not fitting is they have tapered and sometimes barrelled beds so it's easy to see if the front and back width are different and know it won't fit.
