Ford E250 Blown Spark Plug
So I'm stuck in Ely, NV and spark plug on cylinder 3 has blown out (it's completely loose), the plastic part of the coil holding it to the bolt has snapped as well. The one on cylinder 4 also feels a bit loose.
I need to drive 1.5 miles to the shop in the morning (gonna have to freeze it in the back of the van until they open).
Do I need to take the cable out of the fuel injector for these cylinders? Also, do I need to do the same with the coil?
I'm also worried that a bunch of stuff has fallen into the cylinder, seeing as how it's completely loose. Would I be better off with a tow?
I just need to get it sorted ASAP and want to get there early so I don't have to freeze my *** off for another night.
Anything advice is appreciated!
Thanks
With no plug in there the excess fuel just shoots out
If it's only a few miles, just drive it over there
I hear them driving around once in a while and pretty sure the people did not disconnect anything
My clients drive them to me to fix, and I have ran into no problems
Stay warm in Ely
I only charge about 220 for the easy ones (the front 4 plugs)
I pull the intake manifold to do the rears and charge about 350 a plug
If the guy's good or willing to fight your #3 plug can be done without pulling the manifold but it is a rear plug
I know the dealer I used to work for, tries like hell to sell you a new head if it is a rear plug that blows out
Good luck
