Does anyone know why Ford no longer offers the 7.3L gas engine in the F450s? I am a victim of buying a 2005 F350 with the 6.0 diesel and I'm having a hard time buying another diesel. I would love the power output of a diesel, but after being stranded all over the east coast by my 6.0, gas reliability is appealing.
Thanks for the response. It's for towing an enclosed race trailer so going with an F350 is a better option than C&C. Tough call; "downgrade" to a 350 or "risk" a diesel. Guess I have time to think since ordering books are closed.
Yeah I would not consider the 6.0 and 6.4 in the same universe as the 6.7.
In fact, it's clearly a more proven engine than the 7.3 based on years of use and abuse.
Now, if you said you don't want to pay $4.50 a gallon plus DEF to have a $10,000 motor that will grenade if you run a drop of water thru it, well THATS another story!
