Correct Cap for Degas Bottle
Correct Cap for Degas Bottle
Did some searching before asking this ....
I have an '02 7.3L power stroke. The Diesel supplement manual specifies a 13psi cap for the degas bottle.
I just bought a new OEM cap supposedly for my engine and it is a 16 psi cap. Looking online I see other stores present me with a 16psi cap for the engine.
Did Ford change the psi rating for the 2002 7.3L "radiator" cap?
3 PSI for these plastic degas bottles could make a difference.
Also, are the TSB's for my model engine/truck posted on this site somewhere?
Thanks

If you're worried about the tank, there's aftermarket metal ones you can get that will hold way more than 16 psi.
With that said, a little over a year ago, I replaced every hose and the tank on my truck with Motorcraft. The Motorcraft tank split and sprayed the passenger side battery with coolant. Got it warrantied. Split again. Got an aftermarket tank and it's holding 16 psi.
