23 F250 Lariat Baha interior. Love the Course Motorsports phone mounts since they look neat. Considering a straight magnetic mount or the wireless charging mount. I’d hardwire it to keep it neat. I’m doing one driver/one passenger. I prefer to use my phone separate from the truck screen.
Question is does anyone have a picture of one of the charging mounts installed in a Super Duty drivers side ?
The 3 types are the standard, round, and the Autoclose. Concerned about the clearance with the column shifter. Think I prefer the tan Autoclose but it may need a little more clearance. The standard or round wireless mount look nice and are smaller and less obtrusive. Any thoughts or real life pictures ?
Here is the standard mount install on the passenger side that comes with a warning to consider the column shifter “may” interfere with the drivers side install. I could do that and just plug a charge cable in on trips. Help me decide. :-)
Aside…Wish Super Duty I had a center console shifter option like my F150 has….
My Course non charging mount shakes like crazy at highway speeds. There is no vibrations or shaking in the truck otherwise.
I've seen this complaint elsewhere and Course's response was that it's because they have to have the metal so thin to fit through the dash trim. That makes sense to me but it doesn't mean I have to like it for a mount that is not a low budget item.
Had the wife take a video of it for me but the file is too large to upload here.
Im leaning towards the Course product and hoping they may have resolved the shaking issue. I will email and ask them. Its the best looking and cleanest eye level mounts Ive seen so far.
I have this in my truck and also my wife's car. I really like it as it is magnetic and wirelessly charges the phone when on the mount. The only draw back is you have to either place a metal ring on the back of you case or get a case with it built in. I went with the built in route.
Charges my Iphone 13 Pro Max with ease. Very solid mount attached to the right side door, phone stays locked in place no matter how rough the ground is, and yes I have gone airborne with the tractor.
I added this one (https://a.co/d/bOz3tIT) over a year ago and it’s held strong and is about the best location for me. I (happily) have to plug mine in for CarPlay so this position keeps the wire from being draped over anything and it’s close enough so that visualizing it, and even interacting with it if necessary is easy to do. It also stays rock solid when traveling. The mount is magnetic and it sticks to the round MagSafe charging plate in the back of my phone case. (All of my chargers outside the truck are MagSafe so I already had the case, however it is a $15 knockoff.) For less than $20, I love the phone mount!
They don't last, unfortunately. I have the round one and after 6 months, mine has quit charging / charging intermittantly. They only warranty their stuff for 30 days, which is absurd, so no replacement. I still use it. Sometimes, the charge function just keeps turning on/off/on/off every few seconds. Sometimes nothing at all. Sometimes I can get it to charge if I move the phone around, but with their metal ring on the phone, it really only holds in one spot. Otherwise, I'm back to plugging it in on longer trips if I really need the charge.
