Bronco Captain Chairs

Good morning everyone, I have an 86 F250 standard cab with a bench seat I would like to replace. I really like the look of the high back captain's chairs from the 80-89 Broncos. How hard would it be to swap them in with the center console? I was thinking of doing the 40 20 40 seats from the 92-96 trucks because I know that it would be an easy swap so long as I got it from a standard or crew cab truck, but I like the look of the older high back captain's chairs from the Broncos better and I'm willing to lose the center seat for the console. Any help is appreciated

These style seats

We have been down this road before. There are no supports in the floor to bolt the center tracks for the seats. But there are people who just bolt them to the sheetmetal floor with large washers and drive on. So it's up to you what you want to do.

The previous owners of my truck did this swap. I don't know how easy it was but I would suppose not too bad. They drilled the holes needed and then took some strap steel and ran it between the front and rear holes underneath and on each side for strength and went from there. I haven't had any issues with the set up except for one loose nut.

Franklin, the center tracks you're talking about...are you referring to the frame that the seat tracks bolt to? I'm just trying to understand clearly what you mean. The frame in the picture I found online below is from a 92-96 f150 40/20/40 seat. Would the older 80-89 Bronco Captain chairs fit on that frame, even if I have to drill new holes to realign them to fit? I know that frame in particular that 40/20/40 seats bolt to will fit in my truck so long as it's from a standard or crew cab.

Yes Bronco seats will fit on it. I used one of those seat pans when I but 1994 Bronco seats in my 1981.
you will need the seat runners that came with the pan to complete the intallation. I also put the Bronco
console in my truck also. aaaaathe bolts holes are in the pan for it.

Old Hickory, would 81 Bronco seats and console work on that seat pan? I would like to put 80-89 high back captain's chairs and console in my 86 f250 standard cab using the 92-96 standard/crew cab seat pan. I like the look of those high back seats

I would think they would work. The seat arrangement is about the
same on 1080 thru 1996 Ford trucks. You might have to do a little
to make them work good, but I think they will. Maybe some other
members will speak up on this.
