Hey Guys,
Here is a strange one for you. Driving home a couple of nights ago in the rain everything was fine. Next morning went to start my blue whale and nothing happened! No turn over, no nothing. Lights, power windows, power locks all work fine, but not the radio! The very limited repair instincts that I have told me to try and jump it, so I did and still nothing! I guess i am going to have to grease myself up and take it to the stealership. Any advice or quick tips before I do?
Sounds like the starter Solenoid. I would start there.
It is located against the passenger side firewall, under the peice of plastic that looks like a water fall. It is round and has 2 large red wires attached.
You can test this by putting the key in the ignition and in the run position, with an INSULATED SCREW DRIVER, touch the 2 connections at the same time. If it starts then that is your problem..
If you deem it needs replacing, always disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery first.
Your diagnosis was dead on. Took a screwdriver to the the Solenoid and Bubba turned right over! Went down to the part store and picked one up for $10.00! Thank you very much! Your help was greatly appreciated. Needless to say the wife was impressed.
