12" lift
#3
Unless you're building a mud truck that needs very little suspension movement, anything over about 6-8" of lift you're much better off going to a link type suspension. I'm not saying leaves don't work, just at that height the arch and thickness of the leaves make getting a decent ride hard. The other option is to drop the spring mounts down 4-6" and run some 6-8" lift springs

Welcome to FTE, a lift kit up to 6" is the norm for off the shelf. https://www.rockymountainsusp.com/li...0/1966-79.html So just what is the plan with this truck? You building a mud truck, a tough truck, you need so clear some 18/44's? You want to be the big boy on the block?
Keep in mind the high boy rear leaf's are 2 1/4 wide. And ALL other late 77 to 79 rears leaf springs are 3" wide. So shop wisely.
Atlas Suspension offers a 8". https://www.atlassuspension.com/1973...-Front-Springs

There is a company in Canada (I am looking for a link) that sells 10" and 12" off the shelf. Just keep in mind A LOT of other modifications are going to be needed. Like...getting both the axles rotated to correct the pinion angle, longer shocks, longer brake lines, longer drive shafts and the big one, STEERING.
That stock HB set up is not going to work. PLUS that front axle is a low pinion design, so you are really going to have to do some hard work to get it to work. PLUS that model front axle is about the worst to have as far as locating replacement or upgraded axle shafts. Also think about high steer and cross over steering modifications.
I have a 76 Highboy low pinion axle under a 76 Bronco and its broke again (long side axle shaft) and like I said axle shafts are hard/almost impossible to find for it. We bought it that axle under it and are putting a 79 Bronco D44 axle under it now. To have a high pinion axle with easy to find OEM parts and or upgrade parts.

FYI those are called banana springs and it is going to ride like a hay wagon. 3 or 4 link it and get some quality coil over shocks and make it not such a back breaker.

I just want to be at Cracker Barrel with a window seat when that one pulls up to let prom date out on prom night.
12" plus taller tires on a HB is like "up there". Forget store bought kits, it's gonna require a lot of fabrication, like cutting and welding steel. driveshafts, axles, steering, brake work, and a nice ladder.
Good Luck though.

Do you need the 12" lift keep to keep from dragging these on the ground?
