What's the difference?

2000 X 6.8 150k. Lately I've noticed a fuel smell, and some fuel leaking when it's filled. I'm thinking possibly fuel filler neck? My question is I see to prices on all parts web sites... the cheaper price is Ford Build date after 11/00..... mine of course has a build date of 2/00
which is the more expensive one.... like 200 more
can someone explain why this is and possibly give me the right part number... thanks in advance..

When I dropped my tank, I foolishly cut the rubber part of the neck because I couldn't easily pop it off the metal pipe part. I found that part comes as an assembly of tube and pipe from Ford in the past but is now NLA so you can't buy it. I bought a generic fuel filler neck tube from NAPA instead and had to trim it to fit but was successful.
