I picked up my new 22 KR 6.7. I have to press my tailgate button inside the cab twice as well as the bubble button on the tailgate for it to drop? Did they change this on the 22's? Chip problem? My previous 19 and 21 6.7 didn't do this. Thannks for replies.
Yes, they are also including that programming with the most recent unintended tailgate opening recall fix...I can't say for sure when it was implemented or if all 2022 function in that way.
This is great to hear. I had a loaded bed on a road trip a few weeks back, and had a driver on the interstate flag me down to point out that it was opened.
Thankfully everything was under a closed bedcover, and still tied down to prevent shifting so I didn't lose anything... but it shouldn't come down to that.
my 2022 built Nov 2021 was one push, my 2022 built july 2022 needs two pushes, there are days when I understand why ford shares are $12.
$2.5Billion worth of SuperDuty's sitting at KY speedway and >$3Billion in recalls last year could be part of it too! Clearly Ford is a broken company. Sad.
My 2022 KR Interior button doesn't open tailgate unless door is open. Had it in the shop, they said it works as designed. When I picked it up, it work with on push at the dealer but when I got it home the inside button does not work unless door is open. Not worth the hassle of taking it back.
This is good to hear. I often accidentally pop my tailgate when releasing the parking brake. Horrible placement of the button on Ford's part. Will ask my dealer.

I feel too many gadets and hardware to make the truck fancy and epa rules. I hated the push button tailgate on my 2019. Now my XLT doesn't have one and I'm so happy about that. Amoung other options that was a was of money that were in the 19 lariet. Lane assist was lame. Adaptive steering made the steering so hard to use in all conditions. I can go on. The shark antenna was stupid. Truck camper would hit it. Many other things. Just a few here. So I went to a XLT due to Lariets having much more junk then previous years. Bliss was a waste. Back up sensors wouldn't work 100% if in the right zone.
Luckily I could order the XLT with the options I really only needed..
2019 Lariat....Adaptive steering wasn't standard, no such thing as lane keep assist until 2023, prior to that only alert...doesn't XLT now come standard with Blis and back up sensors?
