BEM locking caps

Great folks, fast ship. Product fits perfectly.

but, something I did not know…it’s not a locking system…is basically a pan head security bolt that you screw down after closing the cap. It’s a friction lock.

the security screw for the fuel cap can be defeated with a small chisel tapped on the edge counter clock wise…and maybe even a bit type bolt extractor.

So being that it is only friction locked, you think it can be pried off with a small pry bar fairly easy?

I think the best method is to drill a small hole and use an easy out on it.

I think the value is this will prevent my wife from putting gas in the diesel tank . She snit getting the key.

I have the Stant locking Diesel cap but don’t have a locking DEF cap. I‘d like to have a locking cap just to prevent folks just from screwing with the tanks. Too bad they are so expensive, but they do look nice. And I feel like if I get the DEF cap I’d want the matching diesel cap too. Lol!

I like them a lot. Expensive, but not as easy to defeat as the plastic ones. If someone wants in that bad, anything is defeatable. But for your average vandal/moron, these should do nicely

Hell, my wife won't even drive my truck... and I don't mind. When we first dated, she had such an attitude when behind the wheel of my 96... plus she's says my truck is too big. So I have zero worries on this...

Great pic Bart! Nice pup too!

My wife drove it once down to the school, which is very close, to grab our little guy. She can do it but refuses...

The BEM cap will (hopefully) keep a thief moving on to an easier target.
I got mine as a Christmas gift, love 'em.
As far as wife driving/towing...
My 5'1" beautiful spouse has more miles towing than I do. Quite a sight, F350, 40 foot RV, little tiny thing gets out of the driver seat.

So when you fuel up, you have to unscrew the security bolt, then secure it again afterwards?

This is what I don't like about them. I didn't want a screw lock I wanted a key, 90-180 degree turn max. I'm back to my locking Stant cap because I don't like having to fumble around with the tool to turn it with a key chain or other keys on it.

I just wish someone made a locking DEF cap for the 11 to 16 trucks.
