I had a tough time wiring up to the pass through wires on my '19, it was doable but just barely. You definitely want to keep as much length as possible by removing the factory heat shrink rather than cutting behind it. I have seen a video where the tech removed the BCM to give a little more working room.
Finally got the job done yesterday. Thank goodness! (Although my neighbors probably think there is a complete absence of goodness around my house). I went to the hardware, got a ratcheting crimp tool & some new butt connectors. I used a 9” stainless surgical clamp to grab the end of the pass thru wire. That gave me some additional “reach” that along with the ability to lock it in place was very helpful. I had previously heated & removed the shrink wrap from the end of the pass thru wire to avoid having to cut it off & shorten the wire further. Since the bulky ratcheting crimper blocked my view I used my multi tool to get the butt connector over the end of the wire & get a partial crimp so the wire wouldn’t immediately come loose when I removed the tool. That allowed me to get the ratcheting crimper on the connector & get a really good crimp. Then I used the same procedure connecting my accessory wire to the other end of he butt connector. Nothing very revealing here just the struggles of a very not mechanic trying to get a job done. Thought I should at least let you know the outcome. Thanks for all the helpful comments & advice.

Pics or it didn't happen. Just kidding. Good tips and glad to read you got it done.
looking for help hooking up the pass thru wires behind the passenger kick panel. I have a 2017 F350. The wire are so short I would have strangled whoever is responsible if I had the opportunity. No matter how I contort my body I can’t get two hands down there to get a butt connector, wire nut or anything else to get a good connection. There’s just no room to do anything. Anyone have any recommendations on tools they’ve used, techniques, etc ? Thanks!
For me I just soldered another 10 inches to each wire and put a female terminal on each one, and then went on with what i was working on, i only needed the one but it will make my life easier next time. It was also helpful to pull up the door seal and then the trim piece on the wall under the glove box
As a side question, why do we have all the PTO wires if our vehicle didnt come with PTO? Ford cost saves us out of the extra few inches of wire we need on the pass-thrus but they leave those?
Just a thought, but if you remove the glove box door, would you have better access to the passenger kick panel pass through wires?
I don't think so. I just have to pull out the Husky mat and then the access opens. First time you look it's probably behind the curved trim piece on the door side of access.
2022 F250. I found the wire bundle behind the passenger kick panel, tucked above the fuses and closer to the door than the firewall. I had to simply feel my way.
They made the wires much easier to find under the hood for 2022, tucked behind the upfitter relays instead of down by the fender liner.
