We just got em' in at Sears. It's a General tire, 50,000 mile with a treat pattern that almost mirror images the BFG AT. But here's the good part, I sold four of them, 2657516, last night for 109 bucks each.... The treat goes down the side of the tire slightly and they look great. Also, when putting them on the stock rims on an F150 4 X 4, each tire took less than 1.5 ounces of weight.... May wish to take a look, may be a great alternative. More to follow once we get some feedback. Take a look on the web site...
Uh Big Matt, make you think??

You know, it's funny how people judge things they've had no experience with, because of a name. Take Big Matt's recent experience with the new tires he purchased, Nitto's. They received a very high rating and Matt's not stupid and knows his Expedition. Well, he made an educated purchase but they didn't live up to his expectations. Now people are judging these brand new tires before they've even heard anything about them... Well, I've sold several sets and will advise. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but geeeeeez guys, get a grip. At least read up and make an educated decision about something and not an impulse decision.... Besides, get into the books and take a look at the other brand tires General make.... Might make you think a bit.
I don't think I am narrow minded................. Like YOU said EVERYONE has an opinion. To belittle someone because of their opinion shows narrowmindedness..."It's my way or you do know what you are talking about"...
P.S. I DID own a set of Garbagerals..They were on the wifes Explorer....They provided the WORST ride I ever had that was DIRECTLY related to the tires....They are now BFGoodrich .......
So, I speak from EXPERIENCE..............................not narrowmindedness.....................
I've got to wonder though, were they the same Generals? You must have purchased them in the last three months because that's how long these tires have been out.... Oh well. Just trying to help people on this site out with a low price, in my opinion, good quality, new design tire....
I bought a new Nissan Crew Cab and it came with General Grabbers. They lasted all of 20k before the belts separated on one tire causing a horrible vibration. Needless to say, my experience with Generals was not very good. I am open to look at all kinds of tires, but Generals will not be high on my list just from experience. (I just can't believe how much BFG's cost.)
Originally posted by buzzard Funny thing is, up until a few years ago, their tires were really reasonably priced. Seems like one day they just arbitrarily jacked up prices.
You see, I thought they used to be more moderately priced, but popularity has made BFG's the Marlboros of tires. I can't see spending over $150 per tire plus mounting/balancing, I just can't. There are a lot of other tires out there that are just as good.
I won't judge these tires, but on my last two Expy's that came with Generals, at almost exactly 30k miles, they became UNBALANCEABLE. I took them to two different shops and I still had horrible shakes in the wheel. I had to get rid of the tires with only 30k. Once I switched tires, things were fine. I find it hard to believe that two sets on two trucks did the exact same thing is mere coincidence. Because of that experience, I choose not to look at, purchase, or consider Generals. Is that judging a tire prematurely? Maybe, but that's my perogative as a taxpayer.

I hope they turn out to be a good tire,no body knows until they try em.I quit giving my opinion on tires a few weeks ago in this forum.I gave my opinion on why i didnt want to buy a tire that was made in japan and owned by japan, and i got a lesson on how much people dont care about thier own country. But i wont get into that.Anyhow i hope its a good tire, but if it doesnt say bridgestone good luck trying to sell it here.
