I've had my F250 about 6 months and just discovered a secret compartment in the center console. You can lift up the tray using the center divider to pull it up and there is a nice place to hide your phone or other thin things if you wanted to. Then, if you pull up the flexible liner in this compartment there is a spot under there that looks like a spot to hide your key. Very cool, I thought. Are there any other secret spots I may not know about? I also figured out that the top of the two hole drink holder can slide to the left to create a spot for four drinks.
The purpose of the key spot is that if the key fob battery dies, you can place the key in that spot to allow trucks to start that are equipped with push button start.
Very cool, good to know!

The manual is 737 pages long! You are correct, I did not read the manual. I've referred to it when I had a question about something but no way am I going to sit and read the whole thing.

I bought new. The salesman handed me the keys and said, enjoy! It was kind of like when we took our daughter home from the hospital. No instruction or anything! Just figure it out as we go...for the kid and the truck.

That's what the owners manual "says", but we all know that if you put your key in there, the truck becomes invisible to police and you can drive as fast as you want without getting stopped.

Ive been working on plans to cut out the section under the pop out rubber piece to build a truck humidor. When i put cigars anywhere else my wife always crushes them.
