I am planning on purchasing eith a 89 or newer ford ranger, or an 87 or newer Ford F-150 or F-250, either Extended cab or Regular.
I want to know if the fronts had Buckets and console compartment with the 5sp. tranny, and did the back have a bench seat or jump seats. If It has a bench seat, is there a way I could fit like 2 very small bucket seats in, or jump seats? I would like to fit (2) 10" speakers w/ Boxes in the back, and am not sure which way to go.
If I get the ranger, I'll definatly get an extended cab.
Mike, my '93 F150 ext. cab has a 60/40 split bench, both halves fold forward. As for the back...jump seats, maybe. Small buckets? VERY small! When the kids were smaller, they could get back there, now it's just cargo space. I'm 5'10", not real heavy, and I wouldn't want to ride more than a couple of miles in it. I carpeted the back of the rear seat and the underside of the bench to keep stuff from sliding around back there when the seat is folded down, which can be a real problem. As for the rest of the truck, it's great and I have no plans to get rid of it any time soon. Good luck!
My 91 has buckets and a console in front.I dont think there would be any way to fit buckets in the back, its just to narrow. There is a company that I bought a rear seat riser kit from.It raises the seat about 4".I was then able to build custom woofer boxes on each side and used very high quality low volume sub woofers,(I went with 8" kicker Solo Barics),there was still room to install 3 Sound Stream Amps.I then built a custome console to house a CD Changer,10 meter radio and linear amp.Raising the rear seat even makes it fairly comfortable for an adult and doesnt make you feel like your riding in the trunk when your talking to someone in the front seat. The kids love it because they can see out the windows better.I think it was about $100 and took about an hour to install. The system sounds great. And you can still fold the seat down just like orriginaly.

i have the 90 and it has buckets and a factory console and it came with a full bench, and if you are interested in putting 2 10's in there if you have the full bench like i do you can fit a flat box under the full bench with no problems, would recommend a custom built sealed box and mount your amp under your front seat if you are going to go stealth. if you would like to know what i have, you can visit your local wal-mart and look at the Sony P5 10" Woofers and the 1000 Watt Amp.
