I've been away from home with work for over a week. Next week I am scheduled to help another OBS guy do a c6 to ZF transmission swap in the Vine Grove, KY area.
How did everyone fare through the storm front and winds? To be honest, I don't think I've seen sustained wind like that. Then the gusts just made it even more special.
We did fine. No damage or power outage for us, though there were some power outages around us. I know Maysville got hit hard. A friend of mine lost electric at his business in Maysville and it was still off Saturday afternoon. Paris, Cynthiana, and Georgetown got some damage. There was a tornado near Hillsboro, Oh.
We lost a lot of trees. And some serious roof damage. The cabin where we had the little cookout and get-together has a hole in the roof big enough to put a tire through like a coin slot.
I still don't have electricity, except what the big generator provides. Clark Energy still has about 200 customers out of around 6,000 originally out. But I'm not complaining, I have resources. There are a lot of families out there suffering.
I don't think there is supposed to be this much light in the attic.
A few branches down in the neighborhood, sin=me trees. For the Northern Kentucky region I think my spot of it got it the worse. Out of power most of the exit for about 6 hours. My mother in law was out of power for 12-13 hours. On one of those sustained gusts, it sucked the attic access panel up into the attic. Had to climb up and fix it. I have about 6 dead ash trees in my yard I need to get taken care of
We all must be busy with life. 4/9 I had a fall and ended up breaking 9 bones in right ankle and foot had surgery on 4/12. Stitches out and splint off. Still have to go another 4 weeks before I can bear weight on it. Chomping at the bit to get moving again.
