Windshield trim clips
The clips on the bottom of my windshield that the molding attaches to are rusted away and nothing left for the molding to clip to. I bought new clips to replace the old rusted ones. My truck has the double clips that are attached with two rivets. There does not seem to be enough room under the glass to drill out the old rivets and the windshield will have to be removed first. Is this a DIY job or should I have an auto glass shop do it? If DIY, how hard is it? Thanks in advance, Rick

Maybe a couple of pictures would make your problem clear for others to chime in. I think you're talking about the clip at the base of the wiper's arm. If that's so, maybe you can get away with removing the cover (body part) and mayyyybe the hood, if it's in the way.

Yes. I would remove that windshield and attack the corrosion before I did anything else. As for the rivets, they are replaced with a set of screws you can buy on most collector car websites. You just drill a small hole and screw the screws in place of the rivets.
