Hello have a few questions. I just bought my first Ford. It’s a 97 F150 4.6L V8 Supercab( not sure if that right but it’s got 2 main doors and a third half door) but anyways I fixed the 4x4 system (replaced the transfer case motor, relay switch, and dash ****) but ever since I took the old relay out there’s this beeping noise that comes from somewhere behind the passenger air bag/glove box. It beeps for about 15 secs then goes away. Any ideas as to what it is. Second question I pushed my emergency brake in while I was switching through the 4x4 modes and now it feels like my rear end seems to be dragging. I’m thinking maybe the e brake is stuck or something but it has drums and I’m not really savvy with drum brakes to take them apart. Thanks for any inputs!!!!
Check to see if your abs lights come on when you turn your key on.
Drum brakes could be stuck or park brake did not fully release. Make sure your pedal came back up fully. Jack the rear up and spin each wheel you should be able to tell which brake side is dragging.
I think the light is out on the dash for the ABS cause the front passenger ABS wire is showing and it’s bad so I’ll have to replace it. I watched the video I think I’m just gonna take it to my guy at the shop lol I’m afraid I’d mess something up with the drum brakes.
Sounds like the parking brake cable may be stuck. This happens when it doesn't get used very often. Check the cable adjuster under the truck for slack. If it's loose ,the cable is stuck in the housing. Replace the cables.
Cable is loose and the parking brake doesn’t fully come up when released. So gonna check that after I get done fixing the driver side cv shaft which snapped at the hub when I put it 4L.
