Pictures question.

Is there any active editing that involves moderators or someone besides the poster ... of posted pictures? It seems to me that I've been finding some threads that just scream for pictures but there are none. Some other times I still see italics but just a blank where it looks like a picture was there and is now gone. Not a big issue, but I wondered. Thanks!

it is not us.
it is the original poster deletes the picture, or the hosting service is no longer is no longer around.

i have posts from 20 + years ago with pictures that disappeared after the server the pics were stored on went away.

Most likely reason right there. So many people are willing to share photos but very few willing to pay for a reliable service to provide them and even less with the technical prowess to make their own.

I've had photos disappear from the time I was using another photo hosting site, name escapes me at the moment. I use Imgur (https://imgur.com) and for the past 5 or so years its not only free reliable and stable---------so far.

Thought FTE now has it's own photo hosting capability now?

it does. but most of the missing pictures are from over 10 years ago before IB times.

If you see a picture on another site that you want to post here, it's safest to download it to your computer and upload (drag/drop) it to the picture uploader. The site will host the photo instead of linking to it. It may be something of a pain on your cell phone, but it takes only a few seconds from a desktop computer.

I saw pics just last night in a thread, all gone now, different posters .... but then some others reappeared a few days ago? Thank ya'll, if the sight isn't doing it, must be some other reason.

Example, this thread Interior Upgrades…Looking for guidance - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com) had many pictures last I looked until just a little bit ago. Only two pics and they are signature pictures by the same poster ... "monkey-1" I have tried both the new dark mode and regular mode, no good. Must be a linx in the picture display soft ware? I have tried three times to post a picture here .... now going for 4th time. They do not get past 90%

Attempt #4 failed too.
