I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the DRW version of the Sterling/Visteon 10.5 axle found on 5.4L powered dually pickups/chassis cabs. Before someone chimes in that they don't exist, well they do. They are rare, quite expensive in salvage yards (3500 in my area vs 1500 for dana 80), etc.
My question invloves swapping the hubs from a 2006 10.5 chassis cab DRW axle to a 2003 10.5 pickup axle. I know earlier generations were swappable to a point. Does this hold true with the superduty disc brake versions? I already know that 2005+ duals have a 200mm x 8 bolt pattern and need 17" wheels and some suspension clearance. I already have the wheels, thanks.
Move brake brackets are less of a concern as to if enough spindle exists to install the dually hub. Otherwise, I am left with squeezing a chassis cab axle under a pickup frame.
