a buddy of mine give me a set of stock headers off a 302 mustang he said they would bolt right up to my 351w is this true or not . just by looking at it they look the same but that is a lot of work to get it all tore apart and find out they wont work. they are shorty headers

The headers will definately bolt up to the motor but that doesn't mean they will fit without hitting something else in the engine bay. The factory 5.0 mustang headers will most likely fit fine but aren't a big improvement over cast manifolds.

Barf is right on - new headers purpose-built for your rig shouldn't be too expensive??? Plus, they would be an improvement over the stocker shorties. If you are going to put all that labor into shoehorning in a set of headers, might as well do it right. My $0.02.
