I’ve decided to plumb my 100 gallon transfer tank into my front and only tank I have on the truck( selector valve deleted, running line to electric lift pump)
I ordered a RSD kit, seeing how this kit doesn’t work with these obs fuel necks, I drilled a hole in the top of the fuel tank and sliver soldered the brass fitting right into the tank. I ran the fuel line from there into a ball valve at the bottom of the transfer tank.
I wanted to leave the valve open all the time and let gravity do its thing. I’ve only been filling the transfer tank with 60 gallons. And found I had to move the tank vent higher, so I did and the leaking stopped.
The other day I put 75 gallons in the tank. And now I have fuel leaking out the filler neck cap. It seems like there is so much pressure that the fuel is pushing into the trucks tank and the check valve is letting more fuel than desired through
I would really not have to put an electric valve in. Any suggestions on how I could solve this issues???
I had the same problem so I installed a electric valve and a small electric pump wired off the same wires. So when I turn on the electric pump the valve opens allowing fuel thru. I don't know how you would do it without it because like you say gravity will flood the street.
That seems to be the solution, I just like the idea of gravity feed, I don’t want to wire a valve and having to keep turning it on and off. I’m almost thinking of dropping the tank and welding the filler neck shut, but then I wouldn’t have any way to get fuel to the truck besides the gravity feed line, which feeds the tank just fine. But maybe I’ll will just go electric
