So the wife likes to rock her Lady Ga Ga at extreme levels on her hour drive home from work each day.... whatever... better she gets it out of her system on the way home
So for Christmas i thought i would update her speakers a little bit.
what we have is a 2015 Ford Flex SEL nothing too fancy but she loves what she calls "The Mother Ship"...
Ordered some nice Kenwood speakers on amazon but when i went to install them i ran into something ive never seen before.... what is the contraption on this speaker? Does it go up to the little components in the A pillar?
Shamelessly stole the pic off an ebay add as it is the same speaker. Any help on what the second set of wires and where they go would be appreciated. I cannot for the life of me find a wiring diagram.
That's what is known as a crossover and yes it's for the little speaker. It absorbs the low frequencies designed for the large speaker so all it gets are the high frequencies. You'll want to transfer that over to the new speakers or add a new crossover to connect the little (tweeter) speakers.

Anyone know of an aftermarket plug and play solution? Stereos have not been my gig since i was 18.... 20+ years ago now. My wife is a bit younger
Maybe a Splitter for the factory harness? Im trying not to chop too much up here that way we can put the factory speakers back in if we ever decide to sell the car.
which is hopefully never as Ford dont make the Flex or anything like it anymore ,and the rest of the line up isnt exactly pocketbook friendly or afFORDable for a retired paratrooper.
