Introducing Myself, ASpaceCowboy….
1965 Ford Thunderbird, with No Amenities & it had Crank up Windows & of course the famous
Sliding Steering Wheel.
“65 Thunder Chicken”
I bought it used from a Car Dealer forabout $1,200.00 & I have Never L👀k’ed at another Auto Manufacturer since then.
I basically was a Ford Man after that introduction to the 65T- Bird 🦅 ( or as 1 of my friends named it THUNDER CHICKEN”).
If that name is original or not , I liked it & have gone on to own 3 other Thunder Chicken's, (2 other 65’s & finally a 1966 T-Bird.)
I see you are finding your way around, so I will remind you to check out and join the International Chapter. You will probably find some more Ford lovers, from Puerto Rico!
I then joined the Navy in Jan 1977.
Tried to do my 20, but unfortunately had a Seizure aboard a ship in what turned out to be both my Last Command at 32nd St Naval Base San Diego, Ca,
the USS Cape Cod (AD-43). 32nd. st Naval Base
Jan 77 - Sep 93 which equaled 16 yrs 9 Month.
3 yrs & 3 months shy of a Solid Twenty Years.
USS Cape Cod Tender
I reported to the USS Sierra, AD-18 as TAD, waiting for a class to form at NAS Norfolk. Six years later, I spent the End Of Days aboard the USS Shenandoah, AD-44 to await discharge, as my Mother Ship was being decommissioned.
I'm surprised that those tenders can actually get underway! I was told they were kept afloat by the coffee grounds beneath the hull!
