Pretty day down here.

I did nothing at all - except visit the boys, hand out ham scraps and heartworm medicine for next month.

Got three family members smoking meat now. Every other week I get a nice bag of ham/pork scraps to divide between the boys. Funny as heck to watch them wolf it down and the walk around burping and acting like they're surprised by the burp (feel?, smell? sound? I don't know).

Good to see new and the familiar faces! Just looked, last regular posting I had was back in 2020 and then popped in back in 21 when I had my accident at work. Man time flies...

Apologies for going dark on everyone. I don't get around here like I had been and every time I would think to check in, I've always been at work or without service!

Finally noticed the little yellow ball and curvy arrows down in the lower right corner of the screen and realized why my laptop was doing weird stuff - update time. Fought it for a bit, couldn't seem to get stuff to act right and had to let it go through the shut down, restart and update stuff. It should work "right" now.

Not sure about the rain. Moved back from 9 AM to 12 noon. If that holds with the usual level of accuracy of the predictors around here it could move back to 3 PM, then 7 PM and then never happen at all.

Heard a weird noise earlier. Wasn't one of my dogs barking but sort of sounded like a dog barking. Finally went out on the front porch and I could hear one barking way down the road. I don't know how I could hear that in the house. Guess it was really, really quiet. I'm surprised mine weren't barking back. Maybe it was too far away?

Morning Jim, George (you are unusually quiet), all 'ginia and visitors. Rain happening sometime today.... like down there, it'll happen when it happens. What a job to have those weather -guessers.

Just about got sidetracked again this evening. Got to digging though a cabinet and finding "treasures" I'd forgot were in there. One thing I'd bought and never used. One thing I thought was somewhere else. One thing I'd quit using and forgot about having. Almost Christmas.

It did start raining. Slow/misty/drizzle at first and then heavier part of the way through the afternoon. My wife just hollered it raining pretty hard again. Must be coming out of the north as I can't hear it in the living room.

Talk about funny. Handed out the biscuits none of them like. Grabbed my toolbox from under the bench to set on the porch and headed to the dog houses to get the food bowls filled up. Bear showed up too quick to have eaten the biscuit and I told him he'd better head back and get it or Duke would. He got some petting and then walked away as Duke and Lucky came up to check out the food bowls and Bear left. I told them no more biscuits but ended up going back to the shed to get another for each of them. This time is was the Kirkland brand they like, not the Milk Bone brand they don't like. I opened the door, grabbed the biscuits and locked the door. Started handing out biscuits and everyone took one but Bear. He just stood there looking at me, about 2" from the biscuit in my hand. I kept telling him to take it before somebody else got it. Just about the time I was going to give up on him he opened his mouth up and there was the big Milk Bone biscuit. He managed to get the second biscuit in his mouth and turned to walk away. Duke walked up, Bear dropped both biscuits, grabbed the Kirkland biscuit and ran off the porch. Duke grabbed the Milk Bone biscuit after sniffing over it for a bit. I had no idea that boy could walk around holding that big biscuit and you wouldn't be able to tell. Boy's got a big mouth.

Doggone microsoft edge has been messing me up all evening. Every time I log in here it lets me type a couple lines and locks up my laptop. I keep fighting it and it keeps winning. This is my fifth attempt.

I decided to try google and it's working like a charm.

Bright and sunny here, again this morning. Don't know if it'll cloud up before lunch again or not.

Trying out microsoft edge again to see if it's going to act normal or lock me up again like it was yesterday.

Slept in this morning. Alarm went off at 0500 and I got up to turn it off. Turned around, saw the big warm bed with my wife sound asleep in it and decided to crawl back in bed again.

The tomcat came it just before 8 and made enough racket my wife got up and I followed her down the hallway to get the gas logs fired up and the coffee going.

Morning Jim, George, all 'ginia and visitors. Jim, I think MS had a big update for Edge in the past day or 2. I use Firefox mostly but did notice that Edge was funky much like you did. I have to use it to get into my Navy Retired Pay site. But I was able to get done what I needed. I just had to read so there wasn't any typing involved.

 

Been ducking snow flakes up here in NY. High winds almost took down the canopy /garage so it looks like I'd better take it down before it flies away.

George, good to find out your okay, but busy.

Like yesterday it was bright/sunny in the morning and turned cloudy by around 11 AM. It did clear up again around 2 or 3 and was bright/sunny till dark.

I think the boys are resigned to the Milk Bone biscuits. I only occasionally get a dirty look from Duke or Bear these days. The other two grab it, run around the corner and chow down. Only a week or so left to empty the Milk Bone box and we'll go back to all Kirkland's brand biscuits and they'll all be happy again.

I was going to chop up some limbs today but my was going never got up off the couch and got it done. Did mess with a pistol project just a bit though. Last parts ordered and when they get here sometime next week I can finish it up and hopefully get to the range to sight it in and see how it works/shoots.

Another nice day. Should be good again tomorrow. My youngest son was going to try to work on something tomorrow and I'll be darned if I can remember what it was. I know I asked him if he wanted some help and he said he could do it alright. I just figured as much as he helps me I ought to go help him.

Almost got the truck out of the carport to do some more fluid film spraying and try some cleaning stuff I got for the interior (dust, etc.). Almost.
