Sunny all day. No sittin' in front of the garage and piddlin' with the hobby stuff. The sun was warm but that cold wind was coming out of the east/southeast and it was too chilly for me to sit out there snotting and sneezing like I am. I should have stuck piece of tissue in my nostrils. Before I got done with the food bowls, water bucket (one of two) and the biscuits the watery snot was all over my lip and dripping on the dogs when they got too close.
Got all my parts now, I think, just gotta get out there and do a couple things I won't do in the house (dremel to shorten a pin and center up the front sight - vise/hammer/brass punch).
Wife's last day of quarantine is tomorrow so she's not going to church. She's feeling a lot better. Sitting here make wash cloths with yarn and big needles and calling her mom/sister to show them off with face time. Good thing we don't face time here, some of us might scare the rest of us. When I went to work at the plant in 1985 the guys were still complaining about having to cut/shave their beards off a few years before. As people used to laugh and say, the rule (clean shaven - it was a clean room environment). brought a whole lot of UGLY that people had never seen and had to deal with day in and day out. I had a small mustache that was kept closely trimmed and some people expressed surprise that I got hired with that hair on my upper lip.
Have a great evening guys. Half the weekend has officially "left the building."
Cold and dark, but not as cold as yesterday morning. How far are we from going back to daylight savings time? Can't be too far. Then it'll be dark longer in the morning, for awhile anyway. Warmer is on it's way here though.
Last time I looked at the weather they said warmer today but rain this afternoon. Tomorrow was predicted to be warmer still and sunny. Tomorrow might be the best day to work on stuff if I can wait that long.
Joyous Sunday morning Virginia, Jim, Evan, George, Bud and all the crew reporting. It has been weather wise a nice weekend but Me wise I have had better.
Friday we never broke freezing but I never ventured outside. Yesterday was bright warm sun and we made 45° and the house warmed up nice from the sun in the windows. Today the Soothsayers crystal ball predicts sun and in the 50's. Yesterday we started the morning at 10° and today at 32°. I will take it over frozen and white.
As for me, I came home Thursday evening from the Sammich Factory feeling like a yuck bug was biting on me. As the evening wore on I felt worse. I started the Elderberry tincture, Cell Salts, and Goldenseal. I sleep from about 1930 Thursday until 1500 Friday and started to feel better but very tired. About 1930 Friday I called it a night and sleep until 0630 Saturday. I was up all day yesterday except for a couple of small cat naps through out the day. Crashed about 2000 last night and sleep until 0615 today. I still have the tired feeling but don't feel bad.
I am guessing a version of the Flu. General weakness, feel bad, body aches, headache, fever - the first 24 hours only, Nausea, and some cough congestion. No sinus issues making me feel more Flu like!
I bought this from Harbour Freight to use as a Maintenance cart at the Samich Factory. So far I like it very well!
Well, my wife tested me again today and this time I showed up positive for covid. Just a mild sinus infection to me but positive on the covid test. Sometimes a very slight headache but not even bad enough to take pills for it. The runny nose, sneezing and some pressure now and then. Coughed a couple days but not till whatever was in there was breaking up and coming out. No painful coughing, just a cough every now and then. Sore throat in the morning when I wake up all dried out and a cup of coffee or two takes care of that for the rest of the day. Covid the test says. Oh well, they say viruses get weaker each time they show up.
Not going home again next weekend. Called mom today to let her know.
Bud, I guess we'll be ready for it when it gets here.
Rod, come to think of it, I've been a bit sleepy the last couple of days. Fell asleep early last night, slept all night and took a good nap around lunchtime today. But nothing like you've been going through. It was a good day to take a nap.
It was nice outside this afternoon. Visited the boys and handed out double biscuits. And then they run to the shed porch and turn and look at me like they're going to get #3, too.
Having this morning sore throat thing might get me in the habit of making some coffee to drink earlier than usual. Sipping my first cup before I even got on the computer this morning. It's warmer outside right now than the high on Saturday. And I'm fine with that.
Another day of sitting around in the house. Though I'm thinking of telling my wife I'm going to do another test to see if I get two positives in a row. Science, ain't it wonderful. I'll bet most people would take the positive, after three negatives and accept it, not me. Seen too much crazy stuff over the years at work running tests/trials and commissioning new equipment/processes. Did too many things they told me couldn't be done.
Jim, your symptoms sound like what I've been having. But, all my tests have been negative. Have had the shots and a booster. The kit said if you test neg. take another test, or check with a doctor.
Maybe that "weather balloon" has been dropping off faulty test kits...
Merry Monday Virginia, Jim, George, Evan, Ken, Bud and crew. Not as pretty a day as yesterday but nothing white, wet or frozen and I will take it!
Playing hooky from the Sammich Factory today. I am still tired and fatigue easily. I may play Hooky again tomorrow as well. It is the/a Flu that I have and today is the first day since Friday I have not had plenty of body aches!
Tested again today and it's a positive, too. I figured after 3 negatives before that positive I'd like to be real sure. I accept it now. I've got covid. Been through our house 3 times and I finally got it. Either that or I had it the other times but it's worse on me this time? Who knows. If light sinus infection like illness is all it does by this time I'm okay with it. I'll survive it.
It was nice with I was out with the dogs around 430 PM. Warm enough I took my cap off and laid it on the bench beside me while cut off a roll pin with the dremel, filed the bottom of a front sight and then drove it in place on the slide with my new brass punch and that body hammer I bought a couple months back. Might get to go shoot it in a week or so when I'm over this crud.
Rod, I just realized your new tool box/cart is Racing Yellow. I like it.
Not sure of the weather today. Likely another inside day for me and I never got the urge to check out the weather forecast.
Feeling better, I think, this morning. The truth is, when I went outside yesterday afternoon to visit with the boys and sat on the garage bench with the dremel, file, slide/front sight/brass punch and hammer I got some sunshine and fresh air and after coming back in the house and taking a shower I really felt better. Best I'd felt in a couple of days. Might have to sit on the bench a little today, too, if the weather allows for it.
Hope everyone has a great day doing what ever you need, or want, to do.
Morning Jim, George, all 'ginia and friends. George, me hears that W, Seneca had a quake yesterday AM. 3.8 - Didcha feel it ? Glad you're feeling better, Jim. That vitamin D is really good for ya.
Hey everyone! Did the first towing with the new rig this past weekend, did great. Almost like the engineers knew what they were doing when they designed it!
Got down to 1° where I was at in PA/OH, plus wind-chill. Very glad the new truck has a killer heat system. Thing will run you out of the cabin if you're not careful.
