I would go run it, but I just had to pull the steering column on it, I couldn't get 1st gear or reverse, needs a rebuild, and its hard to find the parts, so I will update later about the race.
When I got my truck with the stock 360 which had almost no oil pressure and was knocking so bad I couldn't stand it, I ran an 18.4 second quarter. This truck is a long bed and had no known drivetrain modifications. The gear was a 3.25 one legger. You should easily be in the 17s. Maybe even high 16s. It weighed about 4250 with me in it.
I'd also like to see what my 1/4 would be running a 67 shortbox 1/2 ton. I've got a 352 with edelbrock performer intake and 600cfm 4bbl. It's got an open 4inch air cleaner, dual breathers(no PCV) and pertronix ignitor. 3 on the floor converted from column, and duals running through stock logs and generic turbos. Timing at about 10-12 BTDC. For tires in the back I'm using proxes ST 275/60R15.( http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...l=Proxes+S%2FT) They have a really aggresive directional tread and get extremely good traction. I've got 3.5 open read diff too. I'm just looking for a rough idea on a time.
Thanks
Nate
Mine ran 18.8 @ 69.6mph in the dead of summer... 3500' d/a.
At the time it had very tiny rusted up dual exhaust and glasspacks and about 500 miles on the stockish rebuild.
'69 250

Ranger 240......i am not sure bout lift off with these trucks these things have some serious stock torgue.....a friend of mine has one(240sx) and i dusted him big time in street lights he gets...16's i think, these trucks just need alittle more at top end........if your running street tires real try to avoid the water or...do a burn but make sure it a good one ....or your take off will be all sliping I met a man at the track recently he has 69.shortbed..360bored 8 over think he had edelbroke and not sure bout the heads or cam or any thing it was street legal and on pump, he ran with a shot of nos he ran mid 12's at like 101-102 mph...ill ask him bout internals..with out nos he ran 13's......hope i helped i spend alot of time at drag strip and alot of time round drivers.....drive right and the truck will do all the work.......just a thought.....

You think if it's in granny 1st I'll getta better launch? lol (just kiddin on that one)
That's close to my combo:
'70 car 390, 9.5:1, stock 2v cam, shelby dual plane intake, headers, C6, dana 44 3.54, 235/75/15's.
I ran 15.91 it's first outing on a warm day with wind, so...
Depending on how the shifts go, expect an upper 15.
How fast would a 1982 F100 long bed, with a 460, 485 hp, 485 ft. lbs, with a Tremec TKO II trans and a 9' with 4:11 gears run in the quarter mile? I have yet to find out one day. Im hpping for low 13's
