already made some mods for my daily driving:
20" Rhino wheels
towing mirrors
re trimmed center captain seats from an escalade
roof rails from an escalade
rear light
body colored bumpers
entertainment screen
grill
Next up: headlights the Cold air intake, exhaust, and Programing
What do you think?
New headlings coming waitng for spacers headlights are here
The escalade roof racks look nice, I'm gonna assume the cross bars wont fit because of the overall width of the excursion compared to the escalade, I’m about to go measure I have both trucks
the rails for the full size escalade were installed with the existing holes 01_Excursion
on the escalade measuring inside the rails it measures 45-3/4 can you measure the escalade rails on the excursion, I'm trying to see if the cross bars can possibly fit for my roof rack
CAI I thought migh give a fe extra HP and some Sound to that amazing V10? yes Pirate4x4 is correct
air filters job is to do exactly as the name suggests, “filter air” keep dirt out of the engine. The factory intake system does a good job of supplying cold filtered air to the engine.
companies take advantage of peoples ignorance of how engines work and try to sell air filters by claiming the make horsepower but it is nonsense.
The engine requires a precise air to fuel mixture ratio of 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel, this is called the stoichiometric ratio and is precisely calibrated by the computer program and associated sensors and limited by the valve train components like how long the cam keeps the valves open.
making more horsepower involves moving more air through the engine and delivering more fuel, the stock injectors are well matched to the cams profile and the ECU fuel mapping, The stock air filter is not limiting the supply of air.
if anything you would want a air filter that can hold more dirt before it becomes restricted but unless you only use your vehicle in dusty conditions off road the stock dirt holding capacity is reasonably sufficient. Check the air filter at every oil change and replace as needed.
after market exhaust can move the RPM band where the engine makes peak hp and torque but “headers” by themselves are not going to make more overall power, just change where the hp gets made in the powerband, typically at higher rpm. The stock exhaust is restricted on purpose to keep the torque lower in the powerband where it is most useful for typical driving.
if you really want more power you need a larger throttle body, more valve duration/lift, head work to make larger intake and exhaust ports ( or a turbo or supercharger) different fuel mapping in the ECU and higher capacity injectors. And even then the stock air filter is probably adequate.
aftermarket CAI are marketing hype. Don’t fall for it. Bottom line is if a air filter is touting HP and not it’s dirt holding capacity or ability to filter out dirt it is just a gimmick.

Not exactly, many years ago I used to work for a Dyno shop down in Gardena Ca and the company AEM when they were much smaller would rent the dyno for the research and development of their cold air intakes, using various lengths and diameter piping on some vehicles they were able to make improved hp over the oem intakes, they would then try the setup over 3 like model stock vehicles for consistency before they produce the kits for sale, they would only produce kits that made improvements over oem intakes, if not they didn’t produce the kit, I guess that’s why my ex goes on the dyno after the modifications I do

do you mind sharing wheel offset, width and the tire size, any rubbing? Did you have to trim anything?
2003EX yes got the fender flares online https://www.ebay.com/itm/293299223046 the are a lot like the ones on the Raptor, will get them installed as soon I get the spacers to fill them out as they are 2" + - wider then my wheels giont to leave them black for now see how i like them without paint

Thanks for the links!
I think they look pretty good in black. I had a White F-150 with the BW pocket flares in black and thought it looked great.
