Hey guys I'm new here and I have a few questions about the engine swap I wanna do. So I have a 1967 ford f250 2wd. It's got the 352 in it as of right now but I want to put my dad's old 400 in it that he built when he was my age. He had it in a 1976 f150 4x4. So I already know I need to do the front sump oil pan and oil pickup. But is there any other issues I would have bolting it in. I think the transmission is a T18 in my truck right now but I have the original bell housing for the 400 so I think belive that will be an issue. What about engine mounts? Any help would be great!!!
All you need are 2WD 1969-79 302 or 77-79 2WD 351M/400 engine perches as they are the same. The 4WD engine supports WILL NOT WORK. You can use the 351M/400 engine mounts. You will have to drill new holes in the crossmember. The clutch linkage should be similar. The T-18 and NP 435 use the same bell housing pattern.
I really appreciate all this information thank you guys, so the engine I already have like I said is the one my dad built, the other thing I just thought of was the oil dipstick, the rear sump that's on it the dip stick good right into the pan I already have a new front sump pan to put on it but I belive the front sump pans the dipstick goes threw the front of the engine somewhere by the timing cover any suggestions on converting that?
