400 swap

i found a guy that has good 400 for $250 runs strong too me only questions is that it came out of a 2x4 and i got a 4x4 would there be any complications or would it just drop right in.

It'll drop right in. The only thing you'll want to check is if it has a front sump oil pan. If you have enuf clearance you can run a front sump just watch the bumps and no off roading. Or do the simple task of swapping pans/oil pumps+pickups.
The exhaust manifolds may be different, but that also is a easy fix

would the oil pan on the 400 i got right now fit the new motor plus i like to go off roading i need the clearence. as for the heads i plan on puting a new set on with duel exaust 2 1/4" straight out the back

Yes you can swap the pan & pickup from your existing 400 onto the new one. You may need to swap in one of the main bolts as well so that you can attach the mounting tab from the pickup.
