So if i wanna speed and be a normal teenager.. I better buy a 2nd vehicle? Get me a little fast import.. like an Eclipse..There speedometers stop at 150...I have heard they do every thing on it( GT models )

I agree w/ Far6 If you want to go fast 2nd car. My Impala SS tops out at 149mph. That is not the Speedo limit, it's the car limit. At least until I get more horse in the heavy thing. Eclipses can not do 150 unless you reprogram the limiter and make more Horses. They are capable, but you need work.
haha, eclipses aren't fast unless you know how to drive them...i always race people with mine, even other broncos, i've beat them, little mods, hehe . there was one night these girls were next to me at a light in a newer eclipse, we took off fast, i was just ahead of them, until they had to shift and the front dived and i jumped them, haha, high fives with us guys in the truck! i don't lose races. (emphasis on the PERIOD)
sorry to say ftr, my other car is a 2001 eclipse GT and if i lined up against you at the light, you would lose. Sorry, simple fact that my car is smaller, lighter and a lot faster than your truck. Nice truck though. I have a 93 Bronco XLT 302 Dark blue.
haha, yeah, i know this, hence my "if you know how to drive them" lil girlies in a go fast car that don't how to shift, might as well be driving a geo, haha
My 79 will bury the speedo any day of the week.. Not sure exactly how fast though. I would estimale around 100. But for safety reasons I try and keep her around 70-72 Have to open her up every few months though and let the horses run
You guys are all nuts. I would never take either of my trucks past 75 or so. I just drove across the country in my pickup, and set the cruise at 75 pretty much the whole way. I still got close to 20mpg, so I doubt that mileage drops that fast past 80. And there's no such thing as negative mpg - unless your engine makes fuel as you drive it down the road.
I've gotten my '92 up to about 95 a couple of times, but I was young and foolish and would never do it again. Short wheelbase, tall stance, 31" tires, and 95 MPH does not give you any kind of escape in an emergency situation (blowout, animal, etc.).
But, of course it was fun; maybe we're all just getting old.
Has anyone taken into consideration tire size ?A very nice man with blue lights was happy to informed me 'that 65 on my speedo was accually 74mph .He was very excitede about this.he even made me come back to meet his friend the Judge.By the way 31X10.50X15 thanks guys

Hey OJ...
I hope everyone knows whenever you put bigger tires on your speedometer will be off. And every set of tires are different. My Bronco was 17 off at 55 when I got it it had 38 Monster Mudders. I payed the $50 and had it recalibrated.. Problem solved. When I went to 35 Swampers it was again 10 off at 55. Another $50 and problem solved. I am sending the ranger I bought last week in to have it recalibrated it is on 31 Boggers and atleast 12 off at 55. I learned many trucks ago and many tickets ago it is much cheaper to pay for recalibration than to pay the tickets
When I first got my bronco I was still into showing up ricers in whatever I had. Guessing by looking over at a ricer I was racing one time I was running about 105 or so with more pedal to spare.
Even though Broncos are trucks they do tend to suprise you when they act like a car. For instance I used to take the 90* turn in front of a Chevy dealership at speeds from 40-55 MPH. They always got a little mad at me for doing that since i guess I gave a few prospects some bad ideas.
Now a days I rarely go over 70 MPH even on the So. Cal Autobahn otherwise known as the I-15 freeway between Ontario and the outside of San diego. I guess I have grown up and figured out it isn't quite worth it is *something* does happen.
re: I still got close to 20mpg, so I doubt that mileage drops that fast past 80.

Andy, as a mechanical engineering student I can tell you that mileage drops substantially as the speed exceeds 65mph, take it to 80 and I guarantee you won't make 18mpg (even with OD, the Bronco is not aerodynamic) it cuts through the wind like a brick. Take it up to 100 and you won't see 16mpg.....air is very dense and moving a large truck like this takes enormous amounts of power.....thus needing more fuel. (MPG assuming velocity remains constant)
For us with the oversized tires we are lucky to be getting 13-15mpg.(and this is without OD)

You obviously missed the humor on this one....
