Sync 3 update

I just received an email from Ford notifying that an update for sync 3 is available. My truck is a 2022 XLT CCSB 7.3L. anyone else get this email notification or know what the sync update entails?

I don't want to wonton update because of APIM Forscan changes unless this update adds something good.

Honestly I figured Ford was done updating Sync 3.

It is as simple as downloading and transferring to a USB drive, stick it in the truck and let it do its thing. I have done maybe Sync 3 updates since owning my 2019 without any unwanted results. I couldn't tell you what it updates. With factory navigation they require the most up to date version of Sync 3 prior to allowing a nav update.

Curious about this myself. I need to do a Sync 3 and Nav update. I'll probably do them this weekend. Couldn't make Sync 3 much worse...

The Sync 3 updates shouldn't change any of your FORScan APIM settings. Never have on mine and I did the CyanLabs v3.0 to v3.4 upgrade.

'22s should have Sync 3.4 already. Mine does.

Same here. It is pretty straightforward but takes awhile. The truck has to be on (running) for about 35-40 minutes.

I was glad to see the Nav update because all the exit numbers for Massachusetts were the “old numbers” (the state finally went to mile marker exit numbering last year) and it made it hard to use when multiple exits were close together. I was glad to see that fixed in the new version.

I don’t have any Forescan changes so I can’t speak to that.
