Hey everyone, I have a new to me 2020 F150 3.5 EB, super crew, 4x4 that has 20” Fuel Wheels with 305x55 Nitto Tera Grapplers on it. The issue I have is that I will get a tire rub with decent suspension movement when in a reasonably sharp turn. I don’t get any rub during sharp turn ins with minor suspension movement. Will a 1.5” leveling kit take care of this? I still want a little bit of a rake in it for those times when I tow something so I don’t squat below level. I am going to add the Road Active Suspension system, also.
How wide are your wheels and what backspace? My first guess is that you have too wide of a wheel with too much negative backspace. If they stick out wider than the body of the truck, you have too much negative backspace. The 305/55/20s are only 33" tall, so that isn't you problem.
In this case a leveling kit won't do you any good. With 20x10 wheels, they are going to stick out and are just too wide. OEM Wheels are +44 backspace. You may well have a zero backspace with a 10" width, and that's too much. If you are in the - backspace numbers, even worse. Find some 20x8.5 OEM take off wheels, and your problems will likely go away. The 305s you have will fit on them. Or you can find some aftermarket 20x9s, but I would go no more than +18 to +25 to, probably sticking with the +25s with the 305 tires.
Negative offsets push the wheel out, positive, brings the wheel in. The higher the positive number, the more tucked under the truck it will be. The higher the negative, the more pushed out it will be. The width of the wheel also matters. As the wheel gets wider, those offset numbers are even more exaggerated.
On my 2016 I did a 2.25” ready lift in the front and then removed the stock block in the back and replaced it with a 3” block…… then bolted on a set of Raptor take offs with BFG all terrains……
