THIS MOD IS DEAD GUYS! FORD IS RELEASING THIS SOFTWARE VIA OTA TO SUPER DUTIES. DO NOT BUY THE F150 APIM JUST WAIT IT WILL COME SOON ENOUGH(WHEN I DONT KNOW BUT ITS COMING)!!
Ok well im gonnna show this off, and then ill try to explain how I got here with the help of a friend! let me start by saying this mod was worth every penny IMO. I got tired of waiting on FORD to push updates to us, it looks like eventually someday the super duty will get updates but not any time soon it seems. So for your viewing pleasure. And yes I have the unreal engine enabled along with the climate bar.
Ok. You got my attention. Not sure if I classify it as a must have...but I'm listening.
lol this was just one of those things that infuriated me about having a 12" screen and not being able to use the whole thing. I had to get an APIM from an F150, and I had to send it out to someone who knows a lot more than me and have the software updated. This update may SOME DAY come for the Super Duty but who knows when that might be. Ford is too busy making sure the F150/F150L/MME get all the goodies and forgot about us SD buyers with sync 4.

Just got ours this weekend and yes the large display could use some ergonomics adjustments. I don't think having the small window/card on the farthest side is ideal. Most of the buttons and controls should be on the side closest to the driver or at least configurable ...full screen for any app should be an option as well.

not having carplay full screen was infuriating to me lol seemed like such a waste to a nice upgrade in the truck. the cards on the side are extremely annoying also. only thing on those cards i used are the climate control and the bed camera. now that I have the climate bar enabled i just do it all from the bottom of the screen.
Well, you said you would explain how it got done, but the explanation seems incomplete.
How does everyone else get this done? And, can it be done for android auto as well???

My bad, im at work and slipped lol
you have to get an APIM from a 2021 F150, Jesse at infotainment updated the software for me, then I swapped it into my truck. easy as that. I got the APIM for 160 shipped.
I got a GWM update via OTA on 12/5/22 it looks like Ford may be preparing a sync update for us but theres no telling when that might be. I will run the 2021 F150 module with new software until Ford sends out an update that has all the features I just gained. when that update(if it ever happens) comes out ill swap my APIM back and update it. For now im happy with my system.

Does this possibly add trailer towing nav capability? In the other thread about it, it has been mentioned it is on the F150's and someone was told our trucks are missing something to make them capable of having it. Wondering if this would change that.
I guess since I am a Samsung user, I don't really get what I am looking at? But I don't see anything impressive on that screen.
My biggest gripe is that when using Android Auto, I get the Google Maps on the left, and then on the right I can select different things, but on Radio, I just get the current station playing like you have displayed above. It would be much more functional if it listed all my favorite radio stations vertically in that spot.

This wouldn’t provide that.
I wonder if Ford’s response to the towing navigation is tying the navigation functionality to the built in scales they just added to the new SDs for 23. Did the lawyers get involved or was it premature marketing, or both?
…also curious if we have any legal recourse since it was a stated feature that has since been removed.

I went through all the navigation menus and did not see towing navigation on there. let me see if this is something I can enable. I wont get to mess with it till thursday or friday when im off work.
I didnt keep ya hanging, I posted up above how I achieved this. you have to get an APIM from a 2021 F150 12" screen, send it off to Jesse at infotainment, have him install the newest software(we arent able to do this you will need him for this), and then install the APIM in your truck. The climate bar you see at the bottom of my screen is a forscan change, and the unreal engine im talking about is also a forscan change.
