I'm thinking that that is trademarked ground there.
It may be, but I don't believe it becomes a legal issue until he tries to sell/profit from them.
Edit: I can't find a trademark logo anywhere on the image so far, so it may not be registered. If not for profit than I don't see the harm. I think it would fall under the "free publicity" category.
I made a video a few years ago with the FTE logo at the beginning, but only after I had asked Stewart_H. He was the moderator of this sub-forum at the time.
He elevated the request to the administration team and they agreed that it would be OK as long as the video was done in good taste. My intent was to thank the FTE members and community and to provide credit where credit was due for the idea and inspiration. Your request is similar, but not the identical. I would suggest you take a similar course of action and get in touch with @Y2KW57 .
Good on you for asking for permission instead of forgiveness on something like this.
I don't intend to sell, make some to send out to maybe the GTG and have them handed out
I will indeed contact Y2KW57 LOL went to message him and it shows he is reading this as of now!
I'll run this request by the folks upstairs, and will get back to you.
Fun facts:
Internet Brands... which owns FTE... also owns what used to called Martindale Hubbell (now simply Martindale), one of the most well-known attorney network, publishing, review, and referral services in the United States, established in 1868.
Internet Brands also owns AVVO, the preeminent online lawyer Q&A and legal directory for consumers.
Internet Brands also owns NOLO Press, the most well known self help legal publisher in the business.
Internet Brands likewise owns Lawyers.com, and several other legal websites.
So when it comes to legal questions relating to the use of Internet Brands logos and trademarks, it seems probable that Internet Brands has no end of resources and access to legal competency to prosecute their claims and defend their rights.
Therefore, rather than spit ball on this, let's take your request upstairs and see what they say.
