Light 'em up

I haven't ever driven a truck with the V10 motor yet but i'm 99% certain i'm buying a 2000 or 2001 when i graduate basic training. I was just wondering on an automatic transmission if you can light up the tires or if there's a sensor that prevents that and if there is a sensor how hard is it to remove that? Thanks

Yep! I don't like to burn up my expensive BFG all-terrains on purpose but it'll do it real easily if you stomp it right.

Mine will only chirp the stock rear tires. The only time it really spins them is on wet road. I think mine wont smoke em because its an ext. cab long bed with 3.73's. (pulls like an sob when you nail it though, just doesnt burn em )

I have a SC SB 4x4 and I can sometimes spin the tires from a dead start. With just a little bit of power-braking I can get both spinning all the way up into 2nd gear.

Auto... I also have a cap on the bed. Without the cap, well, lets just say it's REAL easy to get sideways on dry pavement.

Oh, and 235/85R16's... I expect to have more of a problem when I switch to 265/75R16's

I have to 'help' mine a bit, especially on dry pavement. I also have an open diff and 3.73's, but can get both wheels to spin, the problem is forgetting to pull it down into low. Once it starts spinning WOW it gets right to peak rpm and goes right to 2nd gear if I leave it in D (for dummy I think sometimes). But when I do get em spinning, and I do pull it into L, I can make lots and lots of purdy, billowy, white smoke and man-oh-man, thank goodness for that rev limiter. I'd have paid for 10 pistons with 20 valves buried into the tops of them a hundred times over without it while making a smoke-screen. What's really fun, and I learned this from MotorTrend (it's how they get pictures of a 3 1/2 ton, 366 cubic inch H2 smoking it's tires when in REAL life it just CAN'T) is to pour a little, tiny bit of ATF down in front of each tire, then powerbrake a little. Oh BUDDY ! You wanna talk about SMOKE ! Get out your camera, amaze your friends and relatives !! Don't tell anyone I let this bit of journalist license out though, it's probably top secret.

Kind Of

Bleach works very well for making tires smoke, that's what they used to use in the movies but nowdays they have a special formula because bleach made the tires get so hot they'd often start on fire. If you're paying for an F250 with the V10 motor in it i don't think you really want to have big ***** of fire attached to the rear axle, it's kind of close to the gas tank which isn't a good situation

Yesterday I stopped at a buddy of mine's shop, chatted with them about 10 mins, and had to go,,I turned the truck around, and headed out,,they have a pavement patch for fueling up the trucks there, oh about 20 ft across as I drive across it,,clutch in rev it up, dump it, and hammer down, the motor screamin, 4 rear tires are-a-cookin,,, about 20 ft from my buddies, also,,LOL there heads, whipped around, ,, ,,, damn I like this truck,,then I get to the road, I look in my mirror, there watchin me,,no cars comming,,wind it up and drop the hammer again,,spins all 4,,as I am turnin left, then just the left side smokes em up for 20 ft or so,, ,,ok enough playin,,LOL, next time I see them I will find out how the V-10 sounds at about 4,000 RPM, with the 4 rear tire's-a-cookin.

Later,,,,,,,,,,Mark

10-burnin, 6-turnin, sometimes 4 smokin !

gosh darnn! I am just more and more wanting to get a V10. I could've afforded one if I didn't get the Explorer, but the insurance was waaay to high for my age group. Then again, usually the more power, the more at risk for accident
