Ok here it is, replaced shift solenoid pack today, still have a flashing OD off light. It takes longer to come on now and it does shift better. I now have more than 2 forward gears. It has No off the line power, like its starting in third gear but it shifts three times. So i know its in first. Shifting into 4th is pretty hard. Now when i dropped the pan the the metal on the magnet was more like sludge then metal and quite a bit of it. Im guessing it means my tranny is on the way out? I'd replace the valve body but I don't want to throw another 350 bucks at a bad trans. What do ya'll think?
What codes are you seeing? What transmission do you have?
I haven't got codes yet. I'm looking for a scan tool thar covers both 2003 and transmission.. Noone in town has a scan tool that can get trans codes. And the local shop that does diesel work as well as gassers wants to run a full diagnostics on my trans and charge me 124 bucks. I said nope I'll buy a scanner for 125 to 150 and always have it.I'll need it again for sure.**UPDATE**I have decided to get the FOXWELL NT614 ELITE. Should be here by the weekend. Then I should be able to diagnose my issue.

The better way to read Ford codes, and I mean ALL of the codes, is Forscan. You can download it at www.forscan.org. Their page shows how to select an adapter to plug into the OBDII port. I bought mine from Amazon for less than $30.
