Yep just look under the wiper arm itself and there's a little lever you pull to the side and pull the wiper off the drive stud. Mine were pretty happy to be on there and required a bit of encouragement. There's a tiny woodruff key type thing that can fall out and be lost. Only one of mine actually had the key so I guess someone lost the other one.
I got the wiper arms off with no problem. Never seen that type before. Way easier than other OEM’s. I’m actually already done replacing the cowl. Went pretty smooth. Instead of removing the hood, I just closed it halfway and held it in place with one arm, then used the other hand to work the cowl in place. Pretty easy job if you take your time and don’t force anything. Make sure before you tighten screws on top that the little plastic screw holes are lined up. I used a small jewelers screwdriver to line them up. Take a pic of the weather stripping b/t cowl and windshield before you remove it so you know how the new one goes on. Other than that it was pretty easy. Going to paint the wiper arms flat black while I have them off.
Very nice! Is this part hard to find at all? Expensive? I want to do mine.
Tasca had the individual OEM cowls, but I found a kit with both, plus it came with washer hose and weather strip on Amazon for like $95. It is an incredible deal. It fit perfectly. https://a.co/d/1oHWl3e
This is delicate plastic your working with in addition to 20 yr old plastic you are trying to fasten it to.
DON’T FORCE ANYTHING!!!!!!
If something isn’t feeling right or going together, STOP and assess. You will break your new cowl if you try to impose your will on it.
You do not have to remove antenna. Just drop the passenger cowl down on top of it. If your antenna base is loose, the is a great time to fix it using slightly larger screws in same holes.
You have to pry about 6 plastic “Christmas Tree” fasteners, may want to order some. Possible to reuse old ones, but I used new ones.
Big fat weather strip under hood you reuse.
When putting new washer hose on the driver side sprayer, put a hand on the top side and hold the nozzle in place. When you press the hose on the inlet, it wants to try and go through the cowl.
I'm curious how the color holds up. Do you keep yours outside? I'm always suspicious of aftermarket parts and their ability to not fade with sun exposure. I bought Dorman wiper arms to replace my old faded original ones and they look exactly like the old ones within a month. Waste of money...
My cowl was cracked and broken in several places. I had the driver side held together with zip ties by the sprayer. If it wasn’t cracked/broken I would have just painted it.
