So, Wednesday morning got in the truck and headed off to Dallas for Thanksgiving, set the nav for my sister's house and rolled on. Decided to check the weather along the way and when I went to the menu to pull up the weather, low and behold there was a new icon button that said "Trailer Routing"!
I'm thinking "OH-BOY! They finally updated the nav in the Super Duty for trailer towing nav!"
So, I clicked the button and there was a trailer setup screen and a button to just turn on the trailer towing, but clicking the button didn't turn it on, gave some notification, but I don't recall what it said and I didn't take any pics, figured I would fool with it later.
So, spent the last few days with my truck parked at my sister's house, came out this morning to go home and the trailer tow nav option had disappeared!
I've heard that it's being advertised as available in the 23 model year trucks, so I'm still hoping they roll out a software update for the rest of us at some point. Maybe they'll test it in the new ones first? Pretty stupid of Ford if they don't, they could probably get quite a few new subscriptions if it works.
What year is your truck? I just checked my 2022 F450 Platinum. No luck for me.

As it shows in my signature, my truck is a 2022.
And, this new trailer routing icon on the nav menu just showed up by itself, I didn't have any updates done, so it must have come in over the cellular connection, but then disappeared, so maybe something Ford is testing or something.
Wish it had shown up when I had time to fool with it.

During my free trial period the trailer nav button came and went a few times, but it never actually allowed programming. That's one of the reasons I think they can fix this with a software update, at least for those of us with Sync 4.
Maps through carplay is free and probably works better too.
Well, for one thing, carplay is apple, no apple in my house, only applesauce!
The other thing is that doesn't make that "Navigation" button on the screen work.
Your experience with the trailer nav button disappearing after initially being there matches what others have posted. It is my understanding that Ford has been silent about Trailer navigation on Super Duties prior to MY23. If Ford has advertised it as a feature then they need to be held accountable somehow.
Ford did Announce the 23 will have trailer tow navigation with sync 4. I'm guessing all with a 22 with sync 4 will get a update or be allowed to pay for in the future. As a 22 Platinum owner it would be nice to have it as it just makes sense.
