It was one of the selling points when I bought my 2022 SD and also why I haven't paid for the subscription once the trial expired. If it becomes a reality for the 22's, I might bite. Cell phone nav (Google/Apple/Waze) doesn't work in some of the areas I go so it would be nice to have an on-board setup that works for my travel trailer.

After getting no help from the Ford Consumer Affairs Dept. on this issue they finally told me to take it to my local dealer to see what they could do. I knew they could do anything to activate the trailer towing feature but went ahead and jumped through that loop anyway.

The dealer researched the issue and gave me a copy of SSM 50875 2022 F-Super Duty - Trailer Towing Navigation Guidance Inoperative , which states:
"Some 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a concern of the trailer towing navigation guidance feature inoperative or missing from the SYNC menu. This feature is not enabled on 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles. No repairs should be attempted."

I also spoke to a nice lady at Ford who's in the "In Vehicle Technology Team". She said that the 2022 F-250 does not have the hardware nor software to support the feature.

Not sure what to do at this point but am still pissed at buying a truck who's owner's manual says it has the feature and then paying $80 to use it.

Hmm, I never saw anything in the manual about the trucks having it, or in the sales literature.
Only place I've seen anything about it was in F150's.
And, can't imagine it would take any hardware change to have it on our trucks, just a software change should be all it would take.

I'd subscribe as well if they add trailer towing. I haven't even tried the nav on my 22 since I got it in March. I guess it's expired by now.

The feature is detailed on page 612 of the owner's manual and in the e-mail sent out three months after purchase selling the $80 connected navigation.

Okay, looked at my PDF owner's manual and it is there as well, but it does say "When you have an active subscription and
Trailer Towing Navigation is switched on" and the trailer towing navigation isn't switched on in Super Duty's, so that does not apply to them.
That description is generic for all SYNC 4 systems.
So, it may have been included in the manual in case they decided to turn it on in certain models or future updates.
But, it doesn't mean they all have it, or were intended to have it.
But, it does hint that it is possible to get it turned on with no additional hardware required.

Well first the good news. The hardware can do it, the software can be updated.
Now the bad news, if ford can not make a buck on it it, it wont be done.
So if you have a 2022 Ford MOST will not give you a free upgrade

I just use car play with download maps. Works great, even off road.

But can you input trailer dimensions and get an appropriate route based on that info?

Has there been any update on this? I just ran into this issue with my 2022 F350 Platinum. Same situation as you. I paid for the subscription and it is active, and I do not have the option to define my Trialer dimensions which I just got this past weekend. I called Ford, and the guy from the In-vehicle Tecnology Department told me that the 2022 Superduties do not have the feature, even though it was in the brochure and it is in the manual. Any Chance there is something in Forescan to turn it on?

Nope, no movement that I know of.
Ford just flat lied in the early literature.
I have not even considered paying the subscription again, just use android auto and google maps, far from perfect but tons better than the Ford nav.

My experience is that once you enter your trailer dimensions, you don't get any different routing. You do though get a warning alert for almost any bridge lower than 16', or any load restricted road or bridge. The warning doesn't mean you are too high or too heavy, it just gives you a height or weight warning. It's pretty useless as it should just alert of you are over height or weight, but it doesn't have that much intelligence. Here in Michigan, I get these alerts all the time for bridges there is nothing at all to be concerned with.

So do you have a 2023 or 2024 Superduty? 2022 and older do not have it according to Ford.

I agree with @Ltngdrvr , the marketing guys flubbed it by promising something that wasn't available yet, and it's not likely ever going to show up on our 2022s. I stopped wishing for it anyway after reading reviews from those who did get it in their newer model trucks. From what I've heard it's not as functional as an RV or Trucker GPS. And, RV Life and Roadtrippers both have trailer specific apps that can be connected via CarPlay or Android Auto if you want something integrated on your center stack.
