Yes, of coarse van's are a little different in some ways.
I looked at the thread you posted regarding the door opener. I bumped it for ya. I'm not trying to be a jerk by anything I say, I'm just trying to get a better understanding of everyone's point of view on the subject. But the way I see it, is that anyone who has a van hangs out in this forum. So what i'm trying to understand is how that question would get a response in the van forum over the truck forum. The truck forum has a lot more people (it's the second largest forum on the site). But one thing to look at is maybe someone had a van who doesn't anymore that wouldn't hang out in a van forum. They might know the answer to your question, but because they don't have a van, they don't look in the van section. Now you might say, "well it's in the van forum and it'll be easier for people to see because the only people there are van people"..or something along those lines. But then ya gotta realise that, sure that's correct but there are not going to be as many views. The more people that see your post the better, and I have a feeling that a specific van forum just isn't going to generate the views/users needed to make it sucessful. But then again, us at FTE like to hear from our users and hear there point of view (we're not know-it-alls) so fire back with what ya think...
I check the forums with a lot of activity, this one and a few in the engine section (where my vehicle applies) we just want a place of our own so to speak, some of us feel like intruders in this forum because of all the truck talk. the drivetrains are identicle so mechanical tech questions will remain here, the van forum is goin to be more for the door latch, and other various questions.
I don't have a van, nor will I ever. But, I have to agree with the van guys on this one. If I were in their shoes, I may not want to weed through 100 posts just to try to find 1 that relates to a van. If they shouldn't have a post, then why do you separate the newer trucks from the older trucks, etc. etc.????? Why not just say TRUCKS? Because the smaller, more specific categories make it easier for a person to find answers related to that item!! Such as engine, tranny, Ranger, Van, exhaust and so on. Just my opinion. I am grateful that there is a forum for my specific vehicle, so I don't have to weed through the other junk. Even if there is far less traffic, the traffic will undoubtedly be van people, therefore may actually generate more responses than getting lost in the truck forum. Thanks for listening, Tim

Heck I'm going to buy a van just so I can hang out in the VAN forum, I've always wanted a 4x4 van for hunting and fishing, I've even thought about putting a trap door in the floor of a van for ice fishing, it would be the ultimate mobile ice hut. I could even do up the int like a fishin lodge.
I agree. Also I think one forum is enough for now anyway. I don't think there would be enough posts to section them in to year splits. It would just create inactivity.
What do we need to do to get it done? (van forum that is) Who do we bug?
Also you might have a little trouble getting around the drive shaft for ice fishing. Relocate the spare tire that's underneath and do the hole near the rear doors.
