Replace evap canister/filter

6.2 with flatbed, Fordpass sent a message 2 weeks ago that fuel cap was loose. Remove and replace, all was good until Wednesday when CEL was illuminated. Checked Fordpass and it states same message. Called dealer, they said needs evap canister or filter replaced and wants to have it for 2 to 3 days to relocate because it will happen again (28k mi). 2 hrs from dealer and can’t be without until April or May- would it be easy to just replace on my own and get me thru winter feeding? Didn’t get to ask dealer Wednesday and when I called today, they are closed until Monday.

Yes they are easy to change.

Not sure how they tell that over the phone but I guess it's under warranty?

hard to tell. I daily drive a 7.3 w 4.3 gears. This is a 6.2 w 3.73. Feels sluggish w bale bed and cake feeder anyway. I plan to drive it until I can get a replacement. Dealer says relocation kit will keep it clean longer. I will worry about that next summer. Thanks

Is this part of the recall for the fuel tank vent?
Or was that a separate issue? Mine was an 18 didn’t
know anything about it and had some work being done
on it and the mechanic saw the fuel tank partially collapsed.
