My goal is to create a stock-ish truck. Ie. no over sized injectors, no tune, just improvements. You can see by my signature what has been done and so far so good. Im wondering if a 140V IDM would make any kind of difference with my set up or if it would be just a waste of money?
Depending on how electrical savvy you are this can be done DIY. There used to be instructions here on how to do it. I think I bought a pack of five diodes but only used one to make the upgrade. I have a friend who is really good at this type of thing so he hooked me up on the labor side of it. I ran it for several years before the IDM died (water intrusion) and I didn’t take the time to upgrade the new one.
All things being equal, I am not sure how much it helped. Maybe a little, but not much.
