No, it does not take the same computer as an E4OD.

The truck is already built and operating. I don't see why he would want to change transmissions. It would be a lot of work and money for practically no gain.

We are talking about the simple fact that the Brake On/Off(BOO) switch is probably not locking/unlocking the Torque Converter(TC) correctly.
That's it, no need to discuss trans swaps now.

I've got a 1964 M100 with a 460 and a C6. I'm putting a E4OD in it because that's what I got, that's what I know.
Yes its a light truck, but there is no way I'm putting a 'light weight' trans in 'cause it's light on its feet kinda thang'.

I think you'll be fine with a switched 12v signal.
I must have missed that somehow. That does explain a lot about how a burnt bulb or LEDs could give it fits. Should be quite easy to feed the existing brake/Hazzard circuit with that lead though.

As far as the Trans swap discussion...
My Dad built the truck and I got it from him. Although he sunk a pretty penny in paint/body (the trucks beautiful), he cheaped-out on the chassis swap because he really wanted a 4wd (the 67 was originally 2wd) and he found a 'good deal' on a 92 F250 donor truck. Unfortunately this decision has caused me no end of headachs as I still have an infuriating, and utterly baffling, problem with the engine running like crap at light throttle; that's a whole nother story (and thread) though.
Anyway, long-term goals for this truck will include a manual trans swap swap and, most likely, putting it back on the original chassis (I did manage to convince him not to scrap the original frame as he was doing the build). Therefore, it doesn't make any sense sinking any money swapping in another AT, that I'd still not care for, in it. I'm a manual-trans guy through and through.
I really just wanna get what's in there working properly until I can get back around to a more in-depth project with it.

No need to apologize as far as I'm concerned. It's my thread an I, for one, welcome tangential ideas. Even If it doesn't contribute to solving the original problem, it makes for more interesting discussion.
