I was in an accident a few weeks ago, a semi changed lanes and ran into me, sending me into a wall on an overpass. I was stuck between a wall and the truck so could have been much worse! It only damaged the front end including the bumper, grill guard, mirrors (minor damage), one wheel, both quarters and tweaked the hood. I have an estimate to have the damage fixed for about $9K. The Excursion is in great shape, but needs a couple places fixed and thought I'd have the whole thing redone while I was at it, been planning on that for awhile. I just had a new engine put in a couple years ago so will be keeping it. The shop I took it to didn't want to tackle the whole thing, however. I've been thinking about a front end/rear quarter conversion for a few years, now I'm revisiting that idea. I need to find a shop that has experience doing the conversion. I'm in Coal Valley, Illinois (part of the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities), but would be willing to drive wherever I need to get the work done right. I'm not completely sure I'll do the conversion, so if anyone knows a good shop in my area that could do the work with stock parts, let me know.
Thanks,
Steve
It's a bit of a drive for you, but I was recently at 110Customs in Montgomery, IL to have some work done on my Ex. They had an Ex in there that they were almost done with a front-end swap on (and lots of other customizations). You can give Daniel a call and see what they say.
