Innie Wheels

Anybody have a link or source to some 15x5.5 “innie” wheels. Trying to find a set for my 62 uni. Also, trying to find some of the hubcaps but assume these are hard to come by. Hoping Dennis Carpenter has some since they’re in my backyard. Thanks for the help.

The hubcaps are reproduced, DC has them. Another option if you are not concerned with 100% accuracy are Wheel Vintiques wheels, they have the innie nubs on some models. The good thing about those are that they come in widths up to 10" so you can run wider than stock tires if you wish and depending on the look you are going for. I have them currently on my 62, 7" in front and 10" in the rear. I am using the 12 Series style but there is another style that has "windows" more like the OE ones. You can find them at Summit Racing.

Wheel Vintiques 7" & 10"

thanks. I had actually called them earlier to ask about 10” wheel center bore. I was thinking about running 215/65/15 in the front and 255/70/15 in the back, wide whites. What tires are you using with those wheels.

I am running 235/70-15 on front and 275/60-15 on the rear. I may go to a slightly wider but shorter front when I get it back on the road...

Looks good! I just had nostalgia sid drop my front axle and I put my 235/75/15 back on the front and it was rubbing at peak. Looks like yours is dropped too was that done after you did the frame off

Yes, Used Sids axles and Posie Springs... I also moved the front axle forward about 1" by drilling a different hole in the beam.

Sid’s turned my axle around pretty quick, but I’ve been waiting on my Posies springs now for 2.5 months. I called em and politely asked how long it might be, and they told me 3-6 weeks but they’d send me a shirt. Figured that was a good deal because all my other shirts have holes or grease all over em’. Like the idea of moving forward by drilling new hole. Definitely gonna do that when I get springs.

Here is a shot where you can see how far I moved the axle... it was actually 1.25"... I added that short plate so that the bolt through the springs did not conflict with the u bolts. I also used Sid's hangars and shackles and c notch on the rear...I trimmed the hangars a bit to be flush to the top of the frame. Not sure if I will flip the axle yet or not. At least I will have clearance if I decide to. Wilwood discs on front and rear....

Yeah I notched the rear too, and had to trim their spring hangers. They crash into the torque box if you don’t. Here’s a shot of it back together on the old leaves which were totally shot and the bushings in em’. I think this is lower than what it will be with the Posies. I had the rear leaves in the very top hole, and it looks like the thing is a little nose high or level so I’ll probably go to the 2nd hole.

Nice, I like the long beds so much better than short. Better proportions to my eye unless the short bed is chopped. I plan to go as low as I can without hitting the stock bed floor. I may shorten the front shackles slightly to drop the front about 1/2"... may only get 3/8 out of that...too soon to tell. Here are some photoshopped images of my overall plan....
