Single or dual exhaust? What size pipe? Which engine, manifolds or headers? Exhaust is pretty straight forward. Are you welding pipe together from u-bends and j-bends. If so you can use clothes hangers or welding rod to establish your route. I used to bend pipe for folks off templates they would bend up and bring to the speed shop I worked at so you can do the same by using u-bends, j-bends, and straight pipe. You only need 1-2" of clearance between the exhaust and most items and if you can't get that clearance a heat shield is something easy to fabricate. There are several products available to insulate items from exhaust heat. Get under your truck and take a good look, it will present a route to you. Good luck.
here's mine 2.5" pipe off Sanderson ceramic headers... magna flow mufflers. I did wrap thermal heat tape around pipes where the got close to the tank... closest they were was about1.5" but it don't hurt to wrap it... my truck won't be sitting over mirrors at WOW.
