Rear end swap

I want to get rid of my useless 2.73s god knows why ford puts them in pickups, I'm looking to swap to 3.55s nothing to radical, I assume I could go to a junkyard and pick me up some, is there anything special I need to know?

A 2.73 works great behind a 460

I think I'd stick with new gears not used.

Actually, yes. The easiest swap of gears is to get the whole rear end. Usually you can pick them up pretty cheap, too. Just remember the VSS in the rear of the 95. Cheers.

I had a Ford 9' with a Detroit Locker in mine but missed my speedometer and odometer too much. I ended up going back to the 8.8 with factory 3.55s and a Trac-Loc from E-Bay. Total cost for a stout rear end was 75.00 for the Trac-Loc and 125.00 for the rear itself. Not too bad for 200.00, I think. Just watch out for that shipping cost that can double what you think you'll end up spending on a part.

I would just like to say that I have had 2.47, 2.79, and 3.50 gears in my truck with 31's.
I ended up liking the 2.79's the best and I have a 300 inline 6. Don't bash them
